MY MEDIUM
My sculptures are made by building wool over a wire armature, using a small barbed needle. Needle felting with wool is just the most wonderful medium; what starts as a pile of fluffy wool fibres turn seemingly by magic into creatures with a life and character all of their own. I aim to catch the essence of the animals I create, and expressive eyes are my speciality.
MY INSPIRATION
The natural world is my main inspiration, and I love creating unique realistic yet whimsical animals and birds with their own character and personalities. I am also inspired by childhood memories and images and often create pieces that evoke memories of the magical toys of childhood, or classic illustrations in children's books.
